Abstract :
Electromagnetic field strength measurements of mobile phone base station emissions underground are the issues addressed in this paper. The city of Buenos Aires has a subway network partially served by cellular phone communications. Our team has made extensive measurements along the metro system, letting us build a database where interesting results may be extracted. They are contrasted against our local standards, which set the maximum allowed power density levels. A case study is developed to bring up conclusions about reliability and public opinion tendencies.
