Automatic detection of moving human head region

An automatic detection algorithm of moving human head region is proposed to slove false and missed detections in intelligent monitoring system in this paper. This algorithm is based on the gray feature of the human head. At first, the dual-threshold method is improved, then, the moving region of the hunan head is detected using the modified dual-threshold method, finally, the hunan head is segmented using the region growing method. Experimental results show that this algorithm has an effective and efficient detection of moving human head region in intelligent monitoring system.
