Abstract :
The search for lightning-induced damage based on remote sensing data resulted in many unnecessary space launch delays. While a more relevant proximal sensing system is being planned, an interim estimate of the lightning-induced stresses is needed to avoid some of the over-conservatism. This paper presents a first effort in addressing this need.
