Abstract :
This paper describes the design methodology and the realisations in the field of MMIC-based oscillators for C-band and W-band applications. The complexity of this task clearly shows that a complete understanding of non-linear device behaviour in an oscillator is essential to obtain an easily reproducible performance level on mature technologies dedicated to high volume production. The proposed detailed results demonstrate that MMICs can be considered as competitive solutions for a lot of applications. New development trends are also considered and already illustrated by promising results.
