Abstract :
A novel design of low profile wideband directive dipole antenna with integrated balun is presented here. The bandwidth of a dipole is increased by introducing wings in the tapered feed region. With this, we are able to achieve an input bandwidth of 53% without increasing the overall size of the antenna. A comparison of measured and simulated results is also presented.
