Corporate networking standards

Examines the three main groups of layered corporate networking protocols: open system interconnection (OSI protocols), ISDN access protocols; and IBM´s System Network Architecture (SNA) protocols. Work in standards organisations will continue toward reconciling the three major group of protocols. Meanwhile, these organisations are also focusing on protocol performance. The evolution of generally accepted corporate networking standards will focus on three specific areas of any network´s operation; user access to the network, interfaces within the network, and interfaces between one network and other networks
