Abstract :
Standardization bodies such as ETSI-BRAN, IEEE802.11 and MMAC (Multimedia Mobile Access Communication systems) promotion council have been actively and collaboratively developing the specifications of 5-GHz-band broadband wireless access systems. Given this situation, NTT has been developing a 5-GHz band advanced wireless access (AWA) system aligned with the ETSI-BRAN HIPERLAN/2 and MMAC standards. This paper outlines the 5 GHz-AWA system and highlights the new techniques applied to AWA
