  • Abstract
    A parallel combined method of finite element method (FEM) and charge simulation method (CSM) is proposed, and a domain decomposition approach is employed to calculate the electric field of a vacuum interrupter. Calculation results of multi-dielectrics and intricate unbounded domain based on the combined FEM-CSM is of higher accuracy, less storage, easier equation solution, faster computation and more robust than conventional FEM or CSM approaches.
