Abstract :
This paper investigates the behavior of the signal-to-interference-plus-noise requirement as a function of the average transmitted power for the downlink of a WCDMA voice or 384 kbps data bearer in a pedestrian environment. It is shown that variations of the requirement as a function of the link loss are significant and should be accounted for in assessing the downlink capacity or service footprint
