Abstract :
Miniature 76-GHz-band transmitter and receiver MMIC´s have been successfully developed for automotive radar applications. The transmitter MMIC, comprising a 38-GHz amplifier, a frequency doubler and a 76-GHz amplifier, delivers 10.4-dBm output power. The receiver MMIC, comprising a 38-GHz local amplifier, a subharmonically pumped mixer and a 76-GHz amplifier, demonstrates ¿5.4-dB conversion gain. These MMIC´s, which have the small chip size (2.6 mm × 0.9 mm), facilitate the realization of low-cost front-end modules.
