Abstract :
DC flashover characteristics of sphere-to-sphere air gaps with floating metals are investigated experimentally and flashover mechanism is discussed on the basis of the field calculation and observation of the discharge process. The results show that the flashover characteristics are affected significantly by the size and shape of the floating metals and the gap length
