Abstract :
The technical specifications and requirements for the synchronous optical network (SONET) have been published in the CCITT´s recommendations, and by the American National Standard Institute (ANSI) and Bellcore. The SONET operations data networking criteria are consistent with the telecommunication management network (TMN) which provides communications paths for the SONET network element/operations system (NE/OS). An X.25 prototype circuit board is implemented. The protocol stack consists of the RS-232 in layer 1, the X.25 LAPB in layer 2, the packet layer protocol (PLP) in layer 3 and the TL1 command language in the application layer. The circuit boards are tested and used for OSS connections
