A survey on broadcast in wireless sensor networks

Wireless sensor networks are much attractive in military applications, environmental applications, health applications, and other commercial applications. In wireless sensor networks, broadcast is an important operation used for delivering control message, emergent data, alarm and route discovery. In this paper, the progress of the broadcast algorithms is surveyed, and the key mechanisms and characteristics of the algorithms that are among the most representative of this research area are analyzed. Then the algorithms are classified and compared. Finally, the problems which need to be further studied are proposed.
