  • Abstract
    In this paper the lasing characteristics of Nd3+:NLM crystal in 1.06 μm range with longitudinal diode pumping is studied. The pumping source was linear AlGaAs diode array with 600 μm fiber output, emitting in the range from 0.794 to 0.811 mum. The diode radiation was nonpolarised. The Nd3+:NLM active elements were plates with flat 3times3-mm ends and thickness 5 mm. The ends of plates had 1.06-μm AR coatings. The plates were fixed via an indium foil in a copper frame and mounted in a holder allowing their adjustment in the laser resonator. The resonator of length 30 mm was formed by flat highly reflecting mirror and hemispherical output coupler with radius of curvature 150 mm. Active elements were pumped through the highly reflecting mirror. The pump radiation was focused to an active element, producing in it the pumped region of diameter 1.2 mm. The diode arrays emitted 200-mum pulses with a pulse repetition rate of 20 Hz. The output mirrors used in experiments had the transmission T = 5,6 % , 10 % and 17%.
