Abstract :
In this paper, the design and testing of a dual band fibre radio repeater is presented. This repeater makes use of low cost commercial electrical and optical components and represents an upgrade of an earlier single band repeater version using the same number of optical fibres. The repeater will allow the Spanish mobile operator Telefónica Móviles to improve capacity and coverage of dual band systems recently introduced for commercial exploitation in Spain.
