Abstract :
The purpose of the Faraday cup described, which is composed essentially of coaxial line elements, is monitoring, on a per micropulse basis, the beam intensity of a 200-MeV linac at the Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) Radiation Effects Facility. The center conductor of the coaxial line acts as a beam stop. The output pulses are suitable for fast timing. The mechanical design and construction, the electrical design, the time domain reflectometry tests, the linac beam tests, and evaluation and future development are considered.<>
