Abstract
In this contribution, we report on the operational bandwidth improvement of a metamaterial-inspired antenna obtained by loading it with a non-Foster active circuit. The design principles of the load, as well as its realistic implementation through a stable circuit are presented and demonstrated by the means of full-wave numerical simulations. The achieved operation bandwidth of the proposed antenna is 7 times larger than the one of the same antenna without the non-Foster active load.
