Abstract :
The median filter is an effective and widely used nonlinear filter in image processing. However, it cannot be ignored that median filter blurs the details such as points and short thin lines. Although several improved median smoothers have been put forward, the results are not satisfactory. In this paper, a new type of adaptive median filtering algorithm based on detection criterion and median value is presented. Compared with other methods, such as box filtering, Gauss filtering and median filtering, this algorithm has the best performance.
