Abstract
The paper is devoted to report on the experiments performed by the RACE BRAVE project in the field of traffic control. Motivation for the BRAVE experiments was based on the need to evolve, from a state of the art on traffic control mainly characterised by theoretical results, to a situation that considers experimental results. Advanced solutions such as fast resource management, statistical multiplexing based on large buffers, available bit rate service were implemented and experimented by the project. The infrastructure used for the experiments is reported in the paper, together with some of the experimental results. The BRAVE infrastructure and results are now used by some of the ACTS (Advanced Communication Technology and Services) projects, namely AMUSE, INSIGNIA and EXODUS
