Abstract :
Projects funded under the European Union´s Fourth Framework Advanced Communications, Technologies and Services (ACTS) programme began activities in September ´95. Under the general area of satellite networks, the EU has funded two projects: Satellite EHF Multimedia Services for Mobile Users (SECOMS), and; VSAT ATM Trials Across Europe (VANTAGE). This paper describes the objectives of SECOMS and VANTAGE in the context of the EU´s ACTS programme
