Abstract
Distributed parallel system provides a very good way of using idle resource of every computer effectively. For such idea of saving resource, the thesis designs and realizes a distributed parallel system based on video compression. Video compression is a complex computing process, using idle resources to serve for such problem is significant. In the actual realization, taking the correctness of final result, the unique characteristics of distributed parallel system and the instability of network into consideration, the system appends the bit-stream integration mechanism, the state inspection mechanism and the fault tolerance mechanism. In conclusion, this system has the characteristics of usability, extendibility, self-adaptive and fault-tolerance. At last, from the experiment results, we can find that the system can greatly shorten the compressing time, and considerably speed up the compressing process. It is an effective solution to complex problem of video compression or other research fields.
