Abstract
This paper reports the fade-slope characteristics of 120-GHz-band wireless links due to rain attenuation and antenna vibration by wind. The wireless link was set up in Atsugi, Japan, and the transmission distance was 400 m. The cumulative distribution is 0.01 % when the rain attenuation fade slope is about 4 dB/10 sec, and the cumulative distribution of the rain attenuation fade slope can be expressed as a gamma distribution. We measured the change of received power during rain and strong wind with an interval of 1 msec and found that the frequency component of the rain attenuation fade slope is below 5 Hz, and the fade slope due to antenna vibration by wind is about 8 Hz.
