Abstract :
It is a quite difficult problem to quantitatively analyze the structure of urban thermal environment and its change features. The paper introduced fractal geometry into the quantitative analysis of thermal field structure, and designed three fractal models, named gray curve surface fractal model, general curve surface fractal model and pixel fractal model, according to the structure characteristics of urban thermal environment. The gray curve surface fractal model emphasize on fractal characteristics of the whole thermal field, while the profile curve surface fractal model can be used to analyze the structure information change of thermal field in typical area, and pixel fractal model can describe grads of pixel thermal change. The structure of urban thermal environment of Shanghai in 1990, 1995 and 1998 with its changes was analyzed using above three models
