Abstract :
We demonstrate a bi-directional 60 GHz radio-on-fiber system using a frequency up/down-converter based on cascaded SOA-EAM configuration. SOA cross-gain modulation and photo-detection in EAM are used for frequency up-conversion and EAM nonlinearity is used for frequency down-conversion. Both optical LO and optical IF signals are provided by the central station allowing a very simple base station.
