Abstract :
This paper presents a novel band pass dielectric resonator filter. An elliptic dielectnrc resonator filter is designed by controlling the coupling of the dielectric resonators. The coupling control is achieved through a novel concept where other dielectric resonators are implemented to increase Qof the filter. The quality factor can be increased by up to 300% with sidelobes of less than 20 dB. An experimental filter resulted in a Q of 101 with an insertion loss of about 3.2 dB with significant improvements in the offband rejection.
