Abstract :
To utilize the maximum power generated by the solar panel, it is required to match its internal resistance with that of the load. Because it has nonlinear internal resistance which varies as the intensity of light falling on the panel varies. In this paper boost converter interface is used as Maximum Power Point Tracker (MPPT) to match the source with the load. The problem in using high frequency converter interface is that high frequency ripple interaction with Photovoltaic system. To reduce the ripple, Interleaved Boost Converter (IBC) is considered. The advantages of IBC compared to the conventional boost converter are low input ripple current, high efficiency, faster transient response, reduced electromagnetic emission and improved reliability. The performance of two cell IBC with non-coupled, coupled and inverse coupled inductors with R and RL loads has been presented in this paper. Comparative results have been presented with simulation results with the help of MATLAB software.
