Abstract
This paper presents an investigation of HVDC control connected with weak AC system. A rigorous analysis has been carried out for bipolar HVDC system in PSCAD/EMTDC environment, especially with multi infeed. It has been observed that HVDC controller performance in single infeed and multi infeed are different. The various converter output do change significantly for weak AC system interface. This can be used as primary tool to understand the behavior of various HVDC controllers at different inverter terminals and retune existing control parameters for an optimal performance.
