Abstract :
SAMBA, a European research project within the ACTS programme, shall make MBS - Mobile Broadband System - happen. The origin and the features of MBS are explained, and the SAMBA Trial Platform, a basic MBS, is described. Implementation issues are also addressed as well as first practical experiences reported. Finally, the enabling potential and future evolution possibilities are identified.
