Abstract :
One of the recent methods to increase the precision of time-to-digital (T/D) conversion is based on the use of multiple independent time coding lines (TCLs). The number and configuration of TCLs influence the resolution and precision of conversion. We considered and tested 14 different variants of such lines involving up to 16 TCLs. Obtained results indicate the optimal way of using independent coding lines, which leads to significant improvement in equivalent resolution (up to 11 times) and precision (above 2 times) of T/D conversion in comparison with traditional technique based on a single TCL.
