Abstract :
We present evidence that a neural network (NN) controller is more robust than classical and adaptive controllers for a plant with unknown time-delay. Simulation results indicate that the NN controller is less sensitive to variation in the time-delay. The effects of different numbers of hidden units in the NN, on the control of linear and nonlinear time-delay plants, are also investigated.
