Abstract
Multinational globally distributed projects have become quite common despite the fact that they are complex and often challenging. Communication between team members in such projects needs more effort from the team. This paper is a case of two organizations, consisting of Finns, Indians and Israelis, working on a software project together. The paper concentrates on the communication practices of the organization. In this study communication practices used in case organizations are studied using semi-structured interviews and field observations. The study also discusses the relationshipbetween the organizations and differences and similarities ofpractice usageThe conclusion of the research was that the practicessuggested in literature were known and used to some extent. They were also found to be useful in bridging the geographicdistance between teams. The results also emphasize theimportance of trust in projects.
