Abstract
The design and construction of voltage controlled active integrated antennas is discussed. Three different approaches based on varactor tuned active integrated antennas at 24 GHz consisting of a completely uniplanar microstrip structure with a flip-chip mounted HEMT are presented. Wide and small tuning ranges are realized and compared. The simulation uncertainty even using linear oscillator theory is below 2 % and the best approach shows no power variation over the tuning range.
