Abstract
In this paper, a Successive Interference Cancellation (SIC) receiver typically used for Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) communications is developed to be used as piano chord detector. The piano notes are modeled as CDMA users by means of the definition of an adequate note pattern. The notes are detected in a successive way and also the estimated interference due to detected notes is removed to improve the detection performance of successive notes. The proposed system attains very good results when compared with other piano chord detectors.
