Abstract :
We performed an analysis of the properties of high speed long haul IM/DD optical fiber transmission systems. The experimental results show a 2.5 Gb/s IM/DD optical fiber transmission over a 200 km conventional single mode fiber with an erbium doped fibre amplifier (EDFA) booster and an EDFA preamplifier. The sensitivity of the optical receiver with an EDFA preamplifier reached -39.8 dBm at a BER=1×10-10
