Abstract
In this paper, we study the energy efficiency of channel-aware random access with multiple parallel access channels (PACs) under a collision channel model. Bounds on the energy efficiency are derived. An asymptotic relationship between the energy efficiency and total bandwidth is studied, which shows that the relationship depends on the energy consumption properties of sensors.
