Abstract :
In this paper, the use of a combined SVD-Prony/E-pulse method for radar target identification and/or discrimination is investigated. The SVD-Prony method is first used in conjunction with a data preprocessing algorithm to accurately estimate the complex natural resonances of a radar target response. An E-pulse is then constructed from these estimates and convolved with the corresponding late-time response of the target for identification and discrimination. Results are presented for both simulated data with additive white Gaussian noise and measured data with unknown noise characteristics to demonstrate the application and accuracy of this technique
