Abstract :
This paper introduces a new application of microwave oscillator using magnetostatic wave (MSW) waveguide. The presented device operates as a wide-band tunable microwave detector with high sensitivity utilizing the super-regenerative principle. The circuit is composed of single active microwave device and several passive components including the MSW waveguide to define the operation frequency. On the circuit, the detection signal of 0.1Vp.p with S/N 20dB is obtained as a response to the input signal with 28kHz 100% on-off keying of -43dBm at 2GHz. Moreover, by the nature of the MSW, the linear tuning over 800MHz is realized. The simplicity and tunability should be useful for various industrial and commercial applications.
