Abstract
This paper analyses classical methods in fitting straight-line and their characters, briefly. Least Squares (LS) is most widely used in many aspects, but because of regarding of only one dimension (x or y) the LS has unstable error. TLS method of solving SVD (SVD-TLS) can get numerical solution, but it is complicated and require more time and space. Analytic solutions based-TLS (AS-TLS) are proposed by given formulations and their proofing. Comparingwith SVD-TLS, AS-TLS has many performances. It is easy to use and the efficiency is higher than SVD-TLS. It can be used in many applications not only in programming system but also in kits system. The results from simulation in MATLAB are presented by comparing with existed methods. As an example, it is used in a system of auto-recognition for the number of Finger-meter. The AS-TLS especially adapts to the cases that need real-time signal processingapplications.
