Abstract
One of the most harsh and challenging channels in the telecommunications field is the powerline communications channel (PLC). Several investigations have been conducted to illustrate and/or reduce interference effects over PLC where noise plays a major role in this type of communications channel. The in-building wiring system acts as a receiving antenna which subsequently conducts interference into the powerline communications channel. This interference is investigated and several experimental measurements were conducted when the power is on and when it´s off, and results are presented.
