Abstract
Multicast applications are regarded as one of the key value-added fields. We propose the relay nodes structure to enhance the capacity and quality of multicast inside the cell. This paper focuses on the general structure design for relay network inside cell based on multimedia multicast broadcast services (MBMS) of 3GPP. First, we propose our relay network scheme inside cell. And then, we analyze the structure of MBMS and extend its typical model to supply layered coding and relay nodes tree. Next, we design the extended work flow of multicast session in our MBMS structure. At last, we analyze the capacity, characteristic and performance of relay nodes. Simulation results our proposal and design is efficient. The main contribution of this paper is that we exploit relay and layered coding technique to improve the capacity and quality of multicast application inside cell and both guarantee the basic service to all terminals and supply high quality service to certain terminals. To make our proposal become more practicable, we design our general structure based on MBMS by extend its typical structure and rearrange its work flow to satisfy our design.
