Abstract :
This article discusses an alternative use of the gesture recognition algorithm designed originally for touch interfaces. It is shown that the algorithm is employed in a touch-less environment and provides considerable results in terms of gesture recognition accuracy. The environment makes use of the Kinect motion sensor to obtain gesture data which are processed by the Incremental Recognition algorithm. The conducted experiments have shown an overall recognition rate of over 91%.
