Abstract
We propose in this paper an integrated cavity-backed horn antenna, generalizing the well-known SSFIP (Strip-Slot-Foam-Inverted Patch) design, operating at 75 GHz. The antenna was optimized using a full-wave software and realized using micromachining technologies. The proposed structure can be used for high radiation efficiency antennas and arrays in the millimeter-wave band, since surface waves are inherently suppressed by the use of a metallic horn and a cavity configuration.
