Abstract
This paper focuses on the performance of technology clusters over the period 1998-2005 in communication equipment industry within USA. We explore the relationship between the cluster network properties and the cluster performance at the cluster level. Our analysis shows that the average network distance has a negative impact on the cluster performance. We also find that the cluster coefficient has positive influence on the cluster performance. This finding is consistent with a view that knowledge spillover plays important role in the economic performance of technology clusters.
