  • Abstract
    This paper provides overview of technologies enabling today´s visual communication. During the last few years the industry has been experiencing noticeable changes from enabling meetings for the groups of users by historically using single or multi-codec based video conference rooms towards the additional needs of serving a larger pool of disperse mobile users. Due to the increment in number of users accessing the services, the architecture supporting larger scale deployments must be scalable, robust and secure in order to enable visual communication to users accessing the services from anywhere, anytime and from various devices. The paper also describes some of the usage scenarios for mobile video conferencing solutions.
