Abstract :
Aesthetic photo retouching is the process of removing some given objects in a real photo deliberately and producing a complete, natural-looking pseudo-image automatically. The paper presents an aesthetic photo retouching method with a proposed image inpainting algorithm, which restores large missing regions in an image based on morphological erosion and structure feature replication. As for aesthetic photo retouching, the different from image inpainting is that initial information of removing large occluding objects is known and can be used, so some improvements have been made in the presented image inpainting algorithm. We demonstrate through several examples the effectiveness of the algorithm in removing large occluding objects and producing a logical pseudo-image.
