Abstract :
This paper provides preliminary results regarding the design of residual generators in order to realise the complete diagnosis scheme for a complex process model with fault, uncertainty and disturbances. Under the hypothesis of exploiting input-output polynomial descriptions, it is possible to determine the residual generator functions. In particular, this work shows that the mathematical computation of these filters can be obtained by following a black-box identification approach. The application example of these filters when used for the fault detection and isolation of a simulated spacecraft system are finally reported. The robustness and reliability issues of the suggested residual generation approach and design are investigated by means of extensive simulations.
