Abstract :
In this paper, homodyne active antennas are implemented to use for direct-conversion demodulators. Schottky diodes and field-effect transistors(FETs) are integrated with the patch antennas to act as amplifiers and mixers. Advantages of this architecture are simple circuitry, low power consumption and cheap cost in manufacturing. Moreover, the LO power leakage from the active antenna can be suppressed by one of the active antennas.
