Abstract :
We introduce the concept of the parasitic element into a simple active antenna, planar radiating oscillator using rectangular-shaped patch (R-PRO). Two types of the parasitic element: 1) R-PRO with director patch and 2) R-PRO with reflector, based on Yagi-concept, are first designed and evaluated. In cases of double director and single reflector element, the higher directivity of 1.6dB and 0.8dB than the R-PRO and the tilted angle 30° and 40° from the broadside direction, have been obtained, respectively.
