Abstract
This paper describes the challenges of transforming teaching and assessment methods of a programming course. In addition to introducing new course contents, which are more aligned with the present and future industry requirements, the paper examines the issue of course activity alignment so that they reflect the actual process of software development. The main focus is the issue of aligning assessment with the course goals by transforming classic paper-based assessment methods towards completely computerized ones.
