Abstract
In this paper, a new asymmetric encryption algorithm based on multiple chaotic maps with invertible matrices to encrypt the image is proposed. In order to increase the security of the image, a new shuffling algorithm is proposed based on Arnold Cat map. The combination of invertible matrices and shuffling algorithm in the image encryption provides dual layer protection. The 120 bit long secret key is used to generate the initial conditions of all chaotic maps and also the key length can be increased further to improve the security. To achieve higher security with high complexity to break the cipher image, the size of the invertible matrices can be adaptive. The results of several experimental, statistical analysis, differential analysis and key sensitivity tests show that the proposed asymmetric image encryption algorithm provides an effective way for real-time applications and transmission.
